Beautiful villa

Grant and I have just returned from the most fabulous stay in this property and would absolutely recommend it to anyone considering a stay in Spilia. The house is stunning and served as such a beautiful and cosy home from home. The garden and pool were perfect and the most relaxing of places to spend the day and/or evening. The pool is large enough to take a daily swim or just to cool down in after lounging in the sun on the comfy sun beds. It’s also great that it’s free of chemicals! The house and gardens are so tranquil and served as little oasis in which we really wound down and relaxed. Mani was an unbelievable host and went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best holiday. He was on hand to give us advice re the local trips that we took and also provided scrumptious local foods for us on our arrival. It’s difficult to describe how beautiful this place is and we will definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family. Thank you so much for having us. Grant and Michelle x x

Lovely Villa in a great semi-remote location, beautiful grounds, garden furniture and pool which we all hugely appreciated and enjoyed We had everything we needed already there, but host Manos ensured we had an amazing stay, by leaving a welcome hamper of food and drink, bringing more lovely homemade treats during our stay and was there if we needed anything else in super fast time There are 2 Tavernas within walking distance and a shop not too far by car, as well as the lovely Kolymvari just over 5 minutes away with its shops, restaurants and harbour Would happily stay here again without hesitation

We booked this Villa for 10 days during the wintertime!!! We saw the photos firstly and the reviews which were unbelievable and that’s it!! When we arrived we saw many differences at the villa. The Villa is more beautiful than the photos!!! New fence, new doors, new garage area, what a surprise!!! The pool of course as every guest mentioned is fantastic! Manolis informed us that he also changed all the mattresses. We had such a nice sleep!! 10 days resting, eating, and drinking local wine. We also had the opportunity to meet Manolis who gave us many ideas for things to do during this no-tourist period. Manolis was (as all the reviews mention) very generous and he make as feel like home! We will be back!!

The villa looked great in the photos – and lived up to all our expectations. The pool is delightful and the en suite bathrooms for all three rooms plus the huge beds are all great. Manos is an excellent host – quick to communicate, eager to help, full of useful advice about the area and generous with his gifts!

Just returned from a week’s stay in Villa Katerina – by far one of the best villa’s we have stayed in!The pool area is fantastic, comfortable high quality sun beds (not the cheap plastic ones) and lovely shaded area to sit at when the sun is too hot! The upstairs patio area with sun shade is great – with fantastic views out over the sea. The kitchen is well stocked including washing stuff (as well as the clothes washing machine). The bathroom toiletries were amazing as well – definitely 5* hotel quality items!Manos was a great host as well – left us lots of food & sweets throughout our stay, and was always on hand checking that everything was ok – which is was!The two local taverna’s in the village were very good – we ate there 4/5 times throughout the week.Would recommend Villa Katerina 100% to anyone who is looking to stay in the area!

This was my third time at this region of Crete which is my favorite in Greece!!I choosed this villa based from the reviews and I was right!!! The villa is exactly what a couple needs for relaxing and more!!! The villa has everything you may need. 1)Privacy!Nobody can bother you.The entrance of the house is near a pricate family road. 2)You can feel isolated but a few steps away there are 2 grate tradisional taverns for foodbor drink. 3) The pool is very Big for 2 people,is salted and it is heated!!!!!!When we booked we didn’t know it!!! 4) Manolis…He didn’t charve anything more for the amenity of the heated pool and he did…Everything we could ask from an owner..Tips,kindness and the feeling you can base on him if anything happens.We travel.a lot and all these things are what you search! The welcome pack was also unexpected. We have never seen anything similar. Thank you much Manolis.We will be back!!

Having stayed on Crete 3 times now, can definitely say this is our favourite – Villa Katerina is a fantastic place to stay with the family – if you want seclusion but also being within a v.short drive to beaches and restaurants ( there are 3 within walking distance as well) – one of the best pools we have had and great bedrooms, air conditioning that works very well – finally, the owner, Manos is great to work with – very nice welcome gifts and then brought further gifts during our stay – all local produce – thanks to Manos for being such a great host – will hope to return

Just a fantastic holiday! Beautiful villa which has everything you could possibly need. The pool is beautiful and so relaxing. Manos we can’t thank you enough for all your help and generosity. We hired a car and got to see the Mose beautiful sunsets and beaches. Stunning food at the local restaurants. Can’t fault this holiday and will be back! We have older kids ages 14 and 17 and they just loved it! Thank you xx

We had the most wonderful stay at Yiannis Cottage. The house is beautiful & in a perfect location at the traditional village of Spilia close to lots of lovely beaches and taverns.. The pool is salted and we really enjoyed it, we have never stayed into the pool so much.Manolis was so lovely – we have never stayed with such fantastic host before.I would recommend this villa to every couple or small family for relaxing. We can’t wait to return!

Fantastic 2 Person Villa in Crete

This was the second time we had stayed in this villa after our first trip in 2018. The villa is perfect for 2 people, with a fabulous garden, encompassing a large pool and 2 seating areas. It is very difficult to find something this good for 2 people, it is almost unique. The villa is in a great location on the Western side of Crete, and is within driving distance of many beaches, including some of Crete’s most famous ones. It is situated in the charming village of Spilia and is within walking distance of two good tavernas. The city of Chania with its picturesque harbour is only 30 minutes drive away with Chania airport being another 10 minutes on. The best thing about this villa is the owner, Manolis. He goes out of his way to ensure you have a great holiday, and is there to meet all your needs. He is extremely kind and helpful, without being intrusive. We have travelled to many places across the world and this is the only villa we have stayed in twice which reflects just how much we like it. I know you will too. We hope to return in the future.

On recommande vivement cette maison pour passer un agréable et authentique séjour en Crète.Manos, le propriétaire, nous a fait un super accueil avec des produits locaux et un livret qui regroupe plusieurs endroits très beaux pour découvrir l’île.Concernant la maison, le point fort est l’extérieur avec la piscine entourée de plantes et d’arbres (citronnier et palmier) ainsi qu’un très bel olivier. Cet environnement donne beaucoup de charme à la maison.Et petit plus, il y a des chats qui se baladent autour de la piscine dont un en particulier de couleur noir et blanc qui est très gentil et affectueux (il accepte volontiers les caresses) c’est une bonne patte !En résumé, on valide complètement cette maison !Merci encore Manos !

Perfect week in Crete
Our stay in Spilia was perfect start to finish – Manos was brilliant and on hand for anything we needed throughout (& kept us very well fed!) His booklet full of recommendations was really useful as well, we did/saw/ate lots that we wouldn’t have known about without it. The photos don’t do the villa justice, it’s very private and the flowers and bell tower and mountains in the distance make the most beautiful peaceful surroundings. The pool was wonderful, big enough for a proper swim – we also enjoyed the occasional visits from the many local cats! The inside is quiet, clean and comfortable – we both slept the best we have in ages! The village itself is very pretty – we tried two of the local tavernas and both were great (especially Ta Platanias) and there is a shop within walking distance. 10/10 – definitely recommend for any couple wanting to relax and explore Crete.

Great stay
Villa and everything about the property is as you can see on photos. House is huge, 3 bedrooms, big living room, kitchen is on the small side but has everything. We didn’t even go into the pool house but I believe people can sleep there as well. Terrace outside with the garden is really nice and spacious. Pool is fantastic and clean. Manolis (the manager) was great, he welcomed us at the house, gave us a few tips and was ready to help whenever needed. Location of the house is in a tiny village, it’s surrounded with houses of local people but they keep to themselves and don’t bother you with anything. Having a car is almost a must because the closest store is 5min drive away down the hill. All in all, great experience and we’ll be coming back.

Traum Urlaub in Strandnähe
Ich war mit meinem Freund vom 21. August bis zum 1. September 2022 in diser Villa. Sir befindet sich in mitten eines kleinen Dorfes. 3 verschiedene Lokalitäten kann man von dort zu Fuß schnell erreichen! Der Strand ist lediglich 10 Minuten mit dem Auto, ein Supermarkt 5 Minuten und ein etwas größerer auch nur 10 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Die Villa bietet ausreichend Platz für 2 Personen. Man hat die Möglichkeit dort dazu kochen, Wäsche zu waschen, zu grillen, oder einfach nur entspannen. Im Außenbereich befindet sich ein großer Pool mit mehreren liegemöglichkeiten. Wenn man mit dem Auto anreist, bekommt man einen eigenen Parkplatz im Schatten. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenn man etwas braucht, reicht eine kurze Nachricht und er reagiert, beziehungsweise hilft sofort. Falls man allerdings reine Privatsphäre genießen möchte, kann man das dort auch sehr gut! Niemand stört, wenn man das nicht möchte! Ich kann die Villa wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Super Villa! Sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet! Wir haben uns die zwei Wochen sehr wohl gefühlt. Zur Begrüßung gab es jedemenge Obst und Gemüse! Der Kühlschrank wurde reichlich gefühlt, uns hat es die ersten Tage an nichts gefehlt! Der Pool wurde regelmäßig gereinigt und auch die Villa wurde alle 4 Tage gereinigt und Bettwäsche ,sowie Handtücher gewechselt! Wir können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen! Von uns bekommt sie in allen Bereichen 5 Sterne.. danke für die schöne Zeit

The Best villa in Crete
I’m not sure what impressed us more between the host and the villa itself. This was an unbelievably well executed Holiday stay from check-in to check-out. First, about the host. He’s incredible! Affable, earnest, helpful, flexible, and a wonderful person with whom to interact. He takes your vacation stay seriously and sees to it personally that you have a wonderful time. There’s a notebook in the villa of what to do and where to go with his recommendations. You arrive and the refrigerator is stocked with treats and local specialties. He’s responsive to inquiries/requests and flexible to your preferences. This is the host I want for every VRBO, forever. He’s really that good. The villa itself is gorgeous. The little village of Spilia is wonderful! Partially up the mountain with views to the Mediterranean (from the villa’s back yard!). A couple of delicious local taverns within walking distance. 1km up the hill is the cave/historical attraction/Orthodox church of St. John the Hermit. The villa itself was pristine, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The pool was an extravagance our daughters enjoyed daily. There’s an outdoor downstairs table set in the shade of the upstairs balcony with views of the town, mountains, and sea; we ate at that table daily. The furnishings are attractive, comfortable, as pictured, and exactly what I would wish for on this type of stay. Air conditioners by room let everyone set their preference for comfort. And the location gave us 30-60 minute driving access to pretty much everything the prefecture of Chania has to offer, from Southwest beaches (e.g. Elafonissi) to old town Chania proper. We chose this villa because every review seemed to rave about how great the place was. They were spot on. If you’re considering a stay in/around Chania, I wouldn’t even consider another location. Thank you!
